Thanks for a great blog! I found you through Greenhorns and liked the articles you had here. Keep up the great work. I'm glad you enjoy New York. I'm a native New Yorker, raised half my life in NYC and half in beautiful upstate New York. I wouldn't trade my experiences here for anything... ok, except for more grass and land.

But we have great Farmers Markets all over the city.

Evangeline,

This is a wonderful blog - bravo to you! I'm one of the lucky ones with land, and am heading to it soon, but I FULLY and COMPLETELY support the fledgling paradigm of urban farming and gardening - how else is a city supposed to feed itself?

I'm writing a post about your blog, would like to quote from your "About" essay, the last paragraph especially speaks to me...
"For me, food is the essential element that creates a feeling of home. It evokes a sense of abundance, of shelter, of safety and self-sufficiency. Cooking creates a rhythm to the day, and to life. The more I accept this aspect of myself, the stronger my desire to be connected to my food becomes."

With your permission, of course. Links and trackbacks included, obviously.

Merci!
Merry Christmas!
